In 1953 Annie M.G. Schmidt, a famous Dutch
writer, wrote a children’s book named Abeltje. The main character in the story
travelled with his elevator to America. A mothball salesman travelled with him.
At some point this salesman is elected president for dubious reasons (his mothballs
are thought to have healing power). He ruins everything because he doesn’t
understand the people. He makes himself very unpopular and the people depose
him.
His name: Sir Tump.
Maybe Annie M.G. Schmidt had some predictive
abilities….
I frogged a cowl I knitted in 2013 for my daughter. It was too wide. I love the yarn so I decided to knit it smaller. More knitting projects on my main blog
